The mountain pine bark beetle plays a starring role in my novel, Waiting for the Night Song. This original print was created by Aubrey Pongluelert, an artist, farmer, and environmental science grad student at U of Montana, who graciously allowed me to share it. Notice the overlay of the map and beetle-infested footprint that creates texture on the beetle. I love this image.
